80cm Folding Arm Satellite TV Kit

80cm Folding Arm Satellite TV Kit

This kit includes the cheaper satellite dish , the 80cm Folding arm satellite tv dish , basic speaker stand tripod, 240 volt only and no angle meter.

The biggest disadvantage / problem we find with these dishes is the durability. The dish after a year or two is almost guaranteed to fall over at some point - and there is a high risk if it bending out of shape like an aluminum can. The base of the material is more aluminum based. We have had a lot of customers that do buy them - regardless of our advice, and when the dish falls over or knocked around the dish bends and unfortunately is completely buggered.

It just doesn't have the robust design of the azure shine dish (please come in the store to compare the quality first hand) Clamp teeth brackets at the back can be a pain when assembling the brackets on to the tripod as the teeth never really hold that well onto the tripod - thus it usually takes around 60 seconds to deassemble the dish and I can assure you its never with ease taking the bracket of the tripod. To make it even worse - the engineers designed quite a big bracket to clamp onto the tripod which makes it even worse for storing - being a massive 200mm in size. Regardless, the dish will still provide perfect picture anywhere in Australia.

Kit Consists of:

  • 240V STRONG 4663x digital satellite receiver for use with the optus aurora satellite channels - high quality satellite decoder which will also support recording, pausing live TV, schedule recordings and playback of files - either via a USB stick or USB external hard drive - Very Easy To Use. 3 hour USB Recording stick is $15, or a 6 hour recording stick can be purchased for $25 (8Gb Kingston USB Stick). Works with blue foxtel cards - please call for more information regarding bringing your Foxtel card while travelling - means you still have to keep paying your bill of couse for Foxtel to keep working.

There is the choice of getting the new Altech UEC DSD 4121 with government VAST card for an extra $80 instead of the Strong box and optus card. The Optus aurora system will be shut down in December 2013, so the VAST system is the recommended system to go with. The UEC box is only 240 volt (no 12 volt support at all unless you purchase one of our 12volt Can inverters), and does not work with Foxtel cards. See http://mysattv.com.au/ for more information regarding the new system.

See the QUESTIONS PAGE for more detailed information on what channels you will receive - on either Optus Aurora - or the new government VAST system.

Information About Our Satellite TV kits

You may have seen satellite TV kits for caravans advertised elsewhere for prices ranging from ridiculously expensive to suspiciously cheap. In this case you may now be wondering how our systems stand apart from the others.

Access Antennas and Satellites has been in business for over 9 years, specialising in portable satellite TV. Over these years we have sold many thousands of portable satellite tv kits and built up our reputation Australia wide, offering low-priced, innovative, value for money kits using only high quality equipment. We are renowned for providing friendly service and honest advice. We offer lifetime support on all our satellite kits.

We recognise the need to provide travelers with a low-cost and easy to transport system that will deliver perfect TV reception anywhere in the country. As a West Australian business we know the issues of poor television reception in regional areas. Our personalised friendly service is second to none and when it comes to satellite equipment and set-up issues, we really know our stuff!

Given the right instructions, setting up a satellite system is NOT a complicated procedure, and so we don't charge you for unnecessary gimmicks!

We only supply good quality equipment that won’t let you down when you're in the middle of nowhere, all at a price that won’t break the bank and with friendly ongoing support.

With DIY satellite kits, some companies offer equipment with features that they claim will make the set-up process easier (the biggest example being the "digital" satellite finder), but they also charge an exorbitant amount for these features. You might also find some "backyard operators" selling caravan satellite kits in caravan parks and other places at similar prices as us. However, the questions to ask before you buy from them are

1. Do they supply a smart card - Optus card or VAST card (RRP $99) with their kits - some sellers do not offer/provide a card at all - and then next week yes you will need to go back and purchase a card. Dont be a sucker for our competitors tricks on cheap kits. We do not like to draw people into our store with cheap prices in order to sell incomplete systems.

2. Do they sufficiently educate their customers on how to use the equipment?

3. Do they provide comprehensive but easy to understand instructions in English (i.e. a comprehensive instruction booklet plus a DVD), or do they only provide a few poorly written incomprehensible pages.

3. Do they provide proper equipment to easily locate the satellite? (i.e. Wing nuts for easy adjustment that remove the need to use a spanner, compass, a satellite finder and clinometer)

4. Do they offer friendly customer service or help anywhere in Australia after the sale.

Beware competitors that charge marginally less (some components are similar), but use cheap, low quality equipment in order to maintain their profit margins. Our company has thrived in the competitive satellite TV market in Western Australia by having lower profit margins than most Eastern States companies. What this means is that we don't make as much money from each system as other companies but can offer the same high quality equipment
