- The Deluxe Portable Satellite TV Kit to suit caravan , motorhome and camper trailer

This ultimate in portable caravan satellite tv kits, comes with everything you can think of, there are no hidden extras in this kit. Comes complete with all the bells and whistles to make setting up a piece of cake.

We get customers calling up every week requesting a 85cm/90cm dish to suit North West WA and Central Australia. The gain on this dish is by far the strongest for its dimensions hence the reason why it is the most popular caravan dish in Australia. The bottom and top areas of the oval dish are not used when reflecting the signal so these parts were removed from the oval shaped predecessor. From our testing it has an approximate 10% higher gain than any other dish its size. One of the most important thing for caravaners is size and portability. We have created a dish that folds down compactly to suit the bag , and the brackets on this dish are very easy to adjust. All tools and instructions are provided so even the complete novice can not make a mistake. This dish will work in 100% of Australia. We have a 3 minute setup guarantee after using the system more than 4 times – money back guaranteed. You won’t get this anywhere else unless you are buying the same high quality equipment with the best instructions on the market.

Beware of getting fooled into buying a satellite kit without a tripod, and using just a fold up stand with fold up dish. Be aware of the pros and cons beforehand – these products are not as easy to setup as the sale pitches make it sound! When the ground is not flat it is very hard to set the vertical angle and you can not adjust your tripod to suit. Do our competitors provide an angle meter which works off gravity (which is pretty reliable wouldn’t you say!) rather than just a few numbers on the back of the dish ? With this tool there is no way you can make a mistake when setting your elevation angles – we supply this free of charge with the kit. There are no hidden extras.

We see people with dishes / systems every week bought elsewhere with no proper instructions, with poor quality equipment , such as cheap Chinese pre-made cables that are NOT waterproof,or with big brackets on the back of the dish which prevent it from being portable and easy to setup. If you buy the right equipment the first time around it is very easy. We highly recommend to ask our competitors for a demonstration on how to use, align and adjust these dishes outside – don’t settle until you see it working – ask them to give you a demo when the ground is not flat. Ask them how weatherproof and durable their system REALLY is.

With our tripods, they have a spirit level and adjustable legs, so there is never an issue if the ground is not flat. There is a reason why some competitors will not show you how to use the system in person, they are not easy to use even for the professional. We are getting more and more customers coming to us every day with troubles from satellite kits bought else where. We are always happy to help people, and provide people with simple easy to understand instructions, and most importantly the right equipment and tools. We always say “try before you buy” so you know what you are getting and you can see how easy to use our system really is – come into our store for a free demo and some friendly advice.

Information About Our Satellite TV kits

You may have seen satellite TV kits for caravans advertised elsewhere for prices ranging from ridiculously expensive to suspiciously cheap. In this case you may now be wondering how our systems stand apart from the others.

Access Antennas and Satellites has been in business for over 9 years, specialising in portable satellite TV. Over these years we have sold many thousands of portable satellite tv kits and built up our reputation Australia wide, offering low-priced, innovative, value for money kits using only high quality equipment. We are renowned for providing friendly service and honest advice. We offer lifetime support on all our satellite kits.

We recognise the need to provide travellers with a low-cost and easy to transport system that will deliver perfect TV reception anywhere in the country. As a West Australian business we know the issues of poor television reception in regional areas. Our personalised friendly service is second to none and when it comes to satellite equipment and set-up issues, we really know our stuff!

Given the right instructions, setting up a satellite system is NOT a complicated procedure, and so we don't charge you for unnecessary gimmicks!

We only supply good quality equipment that won’t let you down when you're in the middle of nowhere, all at a price that won’t break the bank and with friendly ongoing support.

With DIY satellite kits, some companies offer equipment with features that they claim will make the set-up process easier (the biggest example being the "digital" satellite finder), but they also charge an exorbitant amount for these features. You might also find some "backyard operators" selling caravan satellite kits in caravan parks and other places at similar prices as us. However, the questions to ask before you buy from them are

1. Do they supply a smart card - Optus card or VAST card (RRP $99) with their kits - some sellers do not offer/provide a card at all - and then you will need to go back and purchase a card. Dont be a sucker for our competitors tricks on cheap kits. We do not like to draw people into our store with cheap prices in order to sell incomplete systems.

2. Do they sufficiently educate their customers on how to use the equipment?

3. Do they provide comprehensive but easy to understand instructions in English (i.e. a comprehensive instruction booklet plus a DVD), or do they only provide a few poorly written incomprehensible pages.

3. Do they provide proper equipment to easily locate the satellite? (i.e. Wing nuts for easy adjustment that remove the need to use a spanner, compass, a satellite finder and clinometer)

4. Do they offer friendly customer service or help anywhere in Australia after the sale.

Beware competitors that charge marginally less (some components are similar), but use cheap, low quality equipment in order to maintain their profit margins. Our company has thrived in the competitive satellite TV market in Western Australia by having lower profit margins than most Eastern States companies. What this means is that we don't make as much money from each system as other companies but still offer the same high quality equipment

In summary

We have carried out extensive research and development to perfect our systems. We source the most appropriate high quality robust components, and some components are exclusive to us.
Our DIY kits are easy to assemble and use, and they are more compact and reliable than other kits on the market.
Our instructions on DVD are comprehensive and easy to follow, making it very easy to set-up and align the dish.
We have experienced friendly staff
We give after sales support, service and advice
We provide all round value for money (service and quality)

Caravan Wall Fittings

50 x PCT-TRS-6L Compression Connector

PCT-TRS-6L – Foxtel approved – The highest quality compression connector on the market – Completely waterproof – Click More Detail for more info – Buy 10 packets @ $20 a packet

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Compression tool is needed - Will not work with Crimper

KEY FEATURES

The PCT TRS6L coaxial cable connector works with RG6 coax cable. It features locking mechanism to retian torque for the longest lasting connections.

These connectors are used for easy "F" type terminations in many different coaxial applications including coaxial jumper cables used for antenna, cable, and satellite tv installations.

In addition to the torque retaining features, PCT connectors also offer superior sealing protection through dual compression rings and dual O-rings. Our specially designed post allows the O-ring, located in the face of the connector, to seat inside a small chamber allowing a true metal-to-metal contact with both the post and the face of the port. Typically, most moisture enters through the threads of a connector. Our dual O-ring design eliminates the need for an additional weather seal. PCT is one of the few manufactures that maintains a high pass rate on the SCTE IPS moisture migration test without the use of weather boots during testing.

80cm Folding Arm Satellite TV Kit

This kit includes the cheaper satellite dish , the 80cm Folding arm satellite tv dish , basic speaker stand tripod, 240 volt only and no angle meter.

Additional DescriptionMore Details

The biggest disadvantage / problem we find with these dishes is the durability. The dish after a year or two is almost guaranteed to fall over at some point - and there is a high risk if it bending out of shape like an aluminum can. The base of the material is more aluminum based. We have had a lot of customers that do buy them - regardless of our advice, and when the dish falls over or knocked around the dish bends and unfortunately is completely buggered.

It just doesn't have the robust design of the azure shine dish (please come in the store to compare the quality first hand) Clamp teeth brackets at the back can be a pain when assembling the brackets on to the tripod as the teeth never really hold that well onto the tripod - thus it usually takes around 60 seconds to deassemble the dish and I can assure you its never with ease taking the bracket of the tripod. To make it even worse - the engineers designed quite a big bracket to clamp onto the tripod which makes it even worse for storing - being a massive 200mm in size. Regardless, the dish will still provide perfect picture anywhere in Australia.

Kit Consists of:

  • 240V STRONG 4663x digital satellite receiver for use with the optus aurora satellite channels - high quality satellite decoder which will also support recording, pausing live TV, schedule recordings and playback of files - either via a USB stick or USB external hard drive - Very Easy To Use. 3 hour USB Recording stick is $15, or a 6 hour recording stick can be purchased for $25 (8Gb Kingston USB Stick). Works with blue foxtel cards - please call for more information regarding bringing your Foxtel card while travelling - means you still have to keep paying your bill of couse for Foxtel to keep working.

There is the choice of getting the new Altech UEC DSD 4121 with government VAST card for an extra $80 instead of the Strong box and optus card. The Optus aurora system will be shut down in December 2013, so the VAST system is the recommended system to go with. Portable Satellite Broadband FAQ - Questions and Answers

Q. How difficult is it to setup and align the Satellite Dish?

A. It really is quite simple. Unlike much of the low cost, low quality equipment currently in use for portable Satellite television, our equipment has been designed from the ground up with the traveller in mind. A digital gauge showing the exact dish angle and the ability to easily make very fine adjustments makes the whole procedure fast and simple.

Q. I don't travel all year round in my caravan or motorhome, can I use my ANT Satellite Internet system at home?

A. Yes - Both roof and ground mounts are available for your satellite dish. When you're not travelling, simply mount your dish on your Home Mount, (or use your portable tripod mount) follow the same alignment procedure and use the same reliable, low cost internet service that you've been using on the road. No need for other internet services, saving you money for more exciting things when you are on the road.

Q. What happens if I exceed my monthly data allowance?

A. You will never be asked to pay excess data charges. After you have exceeded your allowance for a month, our system may reduce your data speed for the remainder of that month. Your speed will automatically return to normal at the beginning of the next month.

Q. I am going on an overseas holiday for 3 months, can I put my Internet service on hold for that time?

A. Yes. You can use either the Vacation Hold or Vacation Pause option. Vacation Hold means that, at your request, we will de-activate your service and all charges will stop for a period of up to 6 months per year. Re-activation to your previous plan will incur an activation fee.
Vacation Pause is where, at a reduced monthly fee, your service will pause, your email will remain available via Web mail, and you will be able to resume your full service at no charge. Both Vacation options are only available after 12 months continuous connection.

Q. How do I know where to point the dish to find the satellite?

A. ANT provides you with software to load onto your computer. You just enter in the town you are in, or near, or you can enter in the Longitude and Latitude and it will give you the compass point to aim at and the elevation the dish needs to be as well as the skew of the ODU.

Q. I already have a TV satellite dish and LNB, can I use this and save some money?

A. Unfortunately TV satellite dishes are not made to the specifications to meet the noise reduction requirements for two way satellite. You can however use the ANT dish for TV. So it means you will only have to carry one dish. The LNB for satellite TV is receive only. You need an ODU that transmits as well as receives for internet access.

Q. How does the ANT phone work?

A. When you make a VoIP call the Voice Box converts your voice into data and sends it via the internet. ANT provides separate, unshared bandwidth for your phone call to ensure that the quality of your call is at its best. We recommend a download speed of 512K for our Phone service. You can read more here.

Q. Can I use the ANT dish to get Satellite TV?

A. Yes, you can as long as you have a Satellite TV Decoder Set Top Box and Aurora Card.

Q. I already have a Set Top Box, can I use this?

A. Yes you can. all you have to do is change the (LO) LNB frequency setting in your set top box to the same as frequency as the ANT LNB.

Q. How much space does the unit take up?

A. The electronics is carried in an aluminium briefcase. The dish is 0.9metre, so it would usually travel on or under the bed. The other units are typically stowed wherever they fit.

Q. When I'm camping I don't have 240v power, how will it run?

A. The system will run from 24V DC or through a pure sine wave inverter from either 12v or 24v vehicle batteries. It consumes under 40Watts of power.

Q. Can I get TV off the same satellite?

A. The Internet Satellite is Optus D1. You can get ABC and SBS on Optus D1. If you want free to air TV the majority of stations are on Optus C1. So it is simply a matter of realigning the dish onto Optus C1 for the TV. The Satellites are four degrees apart on the equator.

Q. Once I place my order how long will delivery take?

A. Once your order has been received it takes approximately 20 days.

Q. Will I get coverage everywhere?

A. Yes, you will have coverage across all of Australia. See our coverage map.

Q. Where do 95% of the population live?

A. In about 30% of the land mass. The other 70% of the country (the uncrowded parts) is covered by the ANT system as well.

We recognise the need to provide travelers with a low-cost and easy to transport system that will deliver perfect TV reception anywhere in the country.

1. Do they supply a smart card - Optus card or VAST card (RRP $99) with their kits - some sellers do not offer/provide a card at all - and then next week yes you will need to go back and purchase a card.

What this means is that we don't make as much money from each system as other companies but can offer the same high quality equipment
